Seventy five
kilometres of
Vancouver Island
Bamfield to Port Renfrew, north to south, eight days on foot. Ladders, cable cars, a bear at Nitinat Narrows, and a pair of boots that never quite dried out.

See the photographsThe diary stops at day five
It was written in 2004, a day at a time, and then it stopped. Day six was started and abandoned halfway through. Days seven and eight were never begun at all.
The photographs from those last three days came home fine. Owen Point, the shelf at low tide, Thrasher Cove, the last kilometre marker, the finish. They have been sitting in a folder for twenty two years with nothing written under them.
They are all in the gallery.
